NAILA @ Miami Swim Show

Another show, another country..Miami Swim Show. Third year in a row, we have been participating at the show and another great year. This year we brought a bit of sand in our suitcases for the booth. In the evening, I got to attend great events around  Swim Week: The Chloé event at Soho house where the catwalk went threw the pool. Got to mingle with photographers, models, buyers.. and the Omega event at the new SLS hotel. We had dinner a few time at Casa Tua and at The Bazaar by José  Andrés restaurant at the SLS Hotel. The decoration was warmth and you felt you were right in your own living room. The food at SLS was absolutely my favorite in Miami, designed Spanish tapas with incredible flavors. For the first time, I did not get to go to the beach in the morning before the show, but did enjoyed our sand and shells at our booth every day.

 

NAILA @ Mode City Paris

Beginning of July, we were lucky to participate at Paris Mode City. It was our first show in Europe and the show was absolutely incredible. We did some great connection and food on the show was not that bad for once. It was a three days show with a big diversity of brands. The Gold and White event organized at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild  by the show was fabulous. I discovered the foie gras with barbapapa, to die for. In the evening, we got to discover the retrospective of Helmut Newton’s work at Grand Palais. A total Must see while in Paris!

Indian Escape

The road to design the perfect beachwear has leaded us to beautiful India. A first trip where we discover a culture of diversity and colorful prints. Lots of inspiration from the embroideries and beads.

We were charmed by the warm welcome of Indians and chocked by the misery. A colorful country where we also meet a lot of fellow designers.

NAILA dream winter destination

Looking for an idyllic beach getaway and want to escape the cold winter. Hotel Saint Geran in Mauritius is an absolutely amazing place. White sand beaches and turquoise water surrounded by coconuts trees and nobody around. Without talking about the absolute perfect service, the Spa and the restaurant by Michelin Star Chef Vineet Bhatia.  A total dream destination.  A little paradise in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Fouta – The traditional tunisian towel

During one of our recent trip in Tunisia, we discovered amazing Foutas. A Fouta is a traditional tunisian towel used for the Hammam. Authentic and handmade in Tunisia, the Fouta is made of 100% natural cotton. It can be used for many purposes from a beach towel, a warp, shawl, or coverup. A unique way to differentiate yourself at the beach. We have included this artisanal and traditional towel in our collection.

Paris Premiere Vision

We are constantly asked how do we find our fabrics. We do travel directly to the factories to meet with the team and visit the infrastructure. But we also do trade shows…and Premiere Vision is a must do! After an early wake up at 4.45 am to catch the plane to Paris Orly, we took the RER to get to Villepente. An hour ride at 7 am stock between body odors, hair, handbags, underarms…..quiet lovely!

It was worth the morning pain to be able to meet with different suppliers from around the world and select fabrics for the next collection. A trade show that spread over six buildings….a real candy store for any fashion designer.
